I would like to think that being able to get affordable health care should be a basic human right, but perhaps I’m wrong. Yes, maybe the Affordable Care Act isn’t perfect, but look at all the good that it has done. I know people that could never afford health insurance before that now can do so. I know people with preexisting conditions that now can get the care they need. I know people that are extremely scared to lose their access to decent health care. These are real people, not made up “alternative” people, that need access to affordable care.
Thinking like a sane person, I don’t understand why we can’t, as a country, get this basic need right. So many other countries have been able to do so, but we’re supposed to be the leaders of the free world, and we can’t seem to be able to get our act together on this. It all comes down to our politicians being more worried about who gave them the hairy eyeball last week than really working together to help the people they are supposed to be working for. Come on ladies and gentlemen, listen to us! We are shouting from the rooftops about what we want and need, all you have to do is listen.
Since it looks like many of us will be back in the boat of not having insurance again soon I did do a quick search on what to do if you do not have health insurance. The first link I found did have some useful information on it: What To Do If You Absolutely Cannot Afford Health Insurance. Good luck to you all!
